CHANDIGARH: In a major pro-poor initiative, the Punjab government will undertake a massive exercise to re-verify all the recently deleted and left-out beneficiaries under the Smart Ration Card scheme to ensure that all genuine eligible persons get the benefit of the scheme.

CHANDIGARH:Even as he launched the Smart Ration Card scheme to cover 1.41 crore beneficiaries across the state, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Saturday announced a separate State-funded scheme to provide subsidized rations to the 9 lakh beneficiaries not covered under the National Food Security Act (NFSA).

CHANDIGARH: “The Smart Ration Card Scheme is one of the flagship schemes of the State Government intended to benefit the actual beneficiaries and eliminating the bogus ones.” This was disclosed here today by the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Mr. Bharat Bhushan Ashu while presiding over a meeting of the Group of Ministers to review the Smart Ration Card Scheme.
